5th time having lunch here. Great place, great staff. The servers were very helpful. But I'm only giving it 4 stars because the nachos were a bit disappointing compared to last time. We only ate the top part, and the rest were tasteless because there weren't any more sauce/toppings. We can't mix it because the chips were too brittle. Still, it was a pleasant visit.
By far the best hotel I have been to during my whole Philippines trip. The rooms are modern and spacious with a even more gorgeous view. The pool is only for hotel guests and never crowded. The staff is lovely and very attentive. The food and cocktails are also delicious. I had the perfect time.
It’s been 8 years since I’ve returned to El Nido and decided I wanted to stay on the mainland vs an island resort. Maremegmeg did not fall short of amazing. The rooms were immaculate, not one detail left unturned. And the views were beautiful! Service was excellent and everybody went above and beyond. I’m talking about everyone from the wait staff, front desk, to the housekeeping! Everyone was so courteous & accommodating! Food was abundant, I never finished a meal regretting what I ordered nor was I still hungry. I loved their food & drink selection and they were presented nicely as well. I honestly thought the loud music and sometimes big crowd on the beach would spoil my stay, but actually it didn’t bother me at all. I stayed in my little castle on the mountain and went swimming in the pool as I pleased. We were able to book a private island hopping for the day with meals and if sure beat the crowds! My only regret is that I didn’t stay longer. Thank you for the great stay and I can’t wait to come back :)
We had the worst experience at the restaurant of this hotel located on the beach.
In short, they did not gave us 500 pesos of change back and treated us like we were trying to steal from them. So, be careful if they ask for a deposit.
In long, they asked us a 500 pesos deposit which is consumable at the restaurant to stay on their chairs on the beach, which I have no problem with. We gave them a 1000 pesos, so we waited for our change, but it never came.
Given that we were there all day and order a plate and drinks, we waited at the end of the day to ask for our change, which minus what we consume was around 350 pesos. It is at that moment that the waitress try to convince us that she had given us our change back during the day. We knew that we did not received anything so we argue and she told us they would look at the camera footage to prove she gave us our change.
After waiting 15 minutes, she came back with 3 other people from the staff, including a security guard and told us that they all saw on the camera that she had given us our change back. We knew we did not receive the change so we asked to see that footage and they told us they will need to call the police before showing us the footage.
As they were calling the police, I went to talk with the security guard who reveal me that there was no footage proving that she had given us our change back but only him had seen the waitress given us our change. Therefore, the whole camera footage thing was just a lie. At this point, we were not even arguing for the money given it was only 500 pesos, but for the principle as they were just lying to us.
They sent us to their manager who told us that nobody from her staff could have done a mistake and forget to gave us our change, so we had for sure received the money. We try explaining the situation but she was not cooperative, she just said she would call the police and we would have to fill long report and at the end of the day it was her words against our, and we would lose as we were just tourist. After spending a long 20 minutes just to get our change we decided that it was not worth losing more time arguing for 500 pesos.
However, they continue to argue that because we had consume for more than 500 pesos we had a balance to pay. It was just a really bad experience, so be careful if they ask you for a deposit given that this ruined our nice day at the beach.
Regarding the food it was good but expensive for what you get. The view on the beach is great.
Can't comment about the rooms and the housekeeping service as we only had dinner there. But what I saw was really nice. The waitstaff were very efficient and helpful. The service was quick and the food tasted good.
The place was well appointed although there were a lot of mozzies buzzing about (the restaurant was open air facing the beach). The ceiling fans helped somewhat to drive away the mosquitos. The staff also offered citronella oil.
Maremegmeg was a fantastic little hideaway. Rooms were clean, spacious, and had a fantastic view (they all do). There’s only a handful of rooms so the pool (guests only) and dining areas were never too busy. Breakfast buffet was next level and there were heaps of great options at the restaurant. Being in a more secluded location, it’s a short tricycle ride into the main town. Unfortunately, wifi was down for almost the whole time we were there but this wasn’t as huge of an issue as I would have otherwise thought! Kayak hire complimentary for guests. Staff were all fantastic. Looking forward to coming back.
Having never been to El Nido before, Maremegmeg was the perfect place to rest and relax while absorbing the stunning beauty of the islands. The facilities including the room, pool, beach, and beach bar were beautiful and very well maintained with stunning views from every angle. With breakfast included every day, daily complimentary cookies and coffee in the room, and free rental of paddle board and kayaks- the higher cost of the hotel is absolutely worth it, especially considering the prime sunset viewing location, 2 for 1 daily happy hours, and delicious food. Staff and service were SO helpful, courteous, and proactive; Angel the reservation manager was absolutely phenomenal in helping to arrange island hopping, transportation, and even helped us set up last minute plans for our next destination.
I cannot recommend Maremegmeg enough for a relaxing, gorgeous, luxury stay!
Maybe they thought that we are stupid in this bar. The same cocktails have 250p and at 16:00-18:00 that they have happy hour (buy one take one) the price is 400p. We asked about that but the stuff said it’s from the manager in Manila.
